Statement on the accessibility of the Ad-free Cities conference

Although it was initially described as an accessible venue, the lift at The Trinity Centre – where the Ad-free Cities conference is to be held this Saturday – has recently broken, making the event inaccessible for wheelchair users.

We are sincerely sorry for this situation.

We very much had accessibility in mind when we booked the space back in July, and purposefully chose The Trinity Centre because it was wheel-chair accessible.

Unfortunately it was not possible for us to relocate the event. Other venues in Bristol are charging astronomical sums like £4,500 for a one day hire – and all the Saturdays are booked out months in advance, so it’s not possible to get another one at such short notice.

For those who are unable to attend in person, around 60% of the sessions are going to be recorded, with clips made available after the conference.

If your plans have been affected by this situation and there is anything we can do to offer further support, please get in touch by email via leigh@adblockbristol.org.uk.

Again, we apologise sincerely and unreservedly.
