New screens proposed for Avonmead roundabout

Update September 2019: See our new blog post here for the latest news on this development.

UPDATE Feb 2019: Adblock success!
Bristol City Council has REJECTED this application on highway safety grounds. You can read the full summary online here:

The inspector noted that “the risk of motorists being distracted or dazzled would be great”, and that “Any distraction may lead to vehicles being involved in a rear end shunt or side impact collision” or a “pedestrian vehicle conflict”.

In total 26 objections were submitted from residents and a number of Bristol’s civic and community organisations, and Bristol’s neighbourhood planning groups were instrumental in providing information on road safety. The applicants, Insite Poster Properties, could still appeal this decision or attempt a fresh application – we’ll keep you informed if they do.

A planning application for two new advertising screens has been submitted by Insite Posters for Avonmead roundabout.
