Multiple adverts planned for Box Makers Yard

Artwork taken from the developers application

An application has been submitted to install adverts at multiple locations near Box Makers Yard in central Bristol. The proposal is requesting permission to display adverts for new luxury flats until the end of June 2021.

The property is owned by Legal & General – a multinational financial services company – who want to install over 50m of advert hoardings at 6 points around the site boundary on Avon Street, Anvil Street, New Kingsley Road and Old Bread Street.

We believe this development would represent enormous harm to the visual amenity of the city, which is already difficult to navigate due to the heavy construction work taking place. The installation of over 50 metres of advert hoardings measuring over 2 metres tall is excessive, unnecessary, and harmful for those living and working in the vicinity.
